Are You Freedom Driven?

True Freedom Found in Christ

Freedom is a basic human desire. Everyone wants freedom in one form or another, whether it be financial, political, or religious. Freedom is important to us and it’s how we express ourselves. As a Christian who markets online, I find that my focus is often on the spiritual and the financial even though I know True Freedom can only be found in Jesus Christ. Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Not surprisingly, the Bible does say a lot about freedom, despite the fact that many think of it as just a book of restrictive rules. Actually, if you’re willing to consider it, the Holy Bible can help us to distinguish between what it means for us to be free from something and to be free to do or be something.
freedom in christ
It is fascinating that much of the freedoms we look for today are viewed as ends in themselves, as the last objective to be obtained.
It’s as though we think that once our particular freedom is achieved, all our problems will be solved.
If you’ve spent any amount of time trying to make money online, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. For example, most of the marketing copywriting you see on sales pages will convey this message in one form or another “Buy this and your problems will be solved!”.
Why do we fall for such nonsense every time? Because we’ll have freedom! LOL right? 😉 I digress.
The Bible clearly teaches and includes in the scripture of the Lord Jesus Christ that God is our provider. God didn’t neglect to include financial provision for us as part of our salvation through Jesus Christ.
However, to receive God’s financial provision for us, we also will need to accept the reality that everything the Lord promises requires faith from us.
This is true regarding the remission of our sins and receiving the gift of eternal life – it requires faith to receive it (John 3:16, Romans 5:1). If we don’t exercise faith in Christ, we remain in our sins and, after we die, we will spend eternity in hell and finally the lake of fire (1 John 5:11-13; Revelation 20:14-15, 21:8).
