Disciples Online

Online Disciples –God, bring into my life someone that I can pour into. I want to tell this person about Your great love and mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Matthew 28:19-20, NIV – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Joanna had to read the email two times. A woman by the name of Michelle she had connected with recently online reached out to her. After reading some of Joanna’s Bible researches online, Michelle wanted a chance to talk with Joanna. She was going through a challenging period in her very own life and she yearned for someone to help her know Jesus more and to grow in her own spiritual walk with Him.

Joanna wasn’t sure just how to respond at first until she thought of the Great Commission. It dawned on her and she finally understood that God desired her to be a mentor. By administering to those who are hurting like Michelle, God was using Joanna as one of His disciples online.

So she wrote back welcoming Michelle to join her in a daily Bible study going through the book of Matthew. After a good month of examining the life of Jesus in the book of Matthew, Michelle asked Joanna if she would call her on the phone.

Over the phone, Joanna was able to lead Michelle to the Message of Salvation and saying the Sinner’s Prayer. She was thrilled as Michelle accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

You might not recognize yet, but you can make use of the World Wide Web to fulfill what God has called us all to do. And, that is to spread His message of love and salvation to everyone. Ministering to a person online can be just as powerful as mentoring somebody offline.

The choice of salvation now rests with YOU. God created mankind with free will and cannot force you to be saved. But if you reject Christ’s sacrifice on your behalf – sadly, you choose to remain eternally separated from God (in hell). However, if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, you will be saved – Act 16:31a, because the price has been fully paid. The moment you believe, you are brought into an eternal relationship with God. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life – John 3:16.
